N2 - This paper presents an on-chip wideband bandpass filter based on GaAs process with high selectivity and improved passband flatness. The filter is constructed by cascading a low-pass and a high-pass filter. To improve the selectivity, extra transmission zeros are introduced in the stopband. To improve the passband flatness, a band-stop filter form of flatness compensation structure combining inductance, capacitance and resistance is proposed. By reasonably adjusting the resonance frequency and insertion loss of the compensation structure, the transmission peak of the bandpass filter at the center frequency is effectively suppressed, resulting in a flat filter passband. To demonstrate the proposed idea, a bandpass filter with a passband from 7.9GHz to 13.8GHz is implemented and fabricated for measurement using 0.15 um GaAs pHEMT process, and the measured results agree very well with the analytical results.
