The development of an automatic ultrasound Doppler angle measurement method

摘要

Medical ultrasound use the classic Doppler principle to estimate the blood flow velocity parallel to the ultrasound beam axis. The knowing of Doppler angle is required to correctly calculate the flow velocity. However, the Doppler angle is hard to be measured correctly with the current manually assisted method. In this paper, we presents an automatic Doppler angle measurement method for continuous flows using the classic and the transverse Doppler principles. This methods uses the energy peak frequency and maximum frequency of the Doppler shift spectrum. The Doppler angle can be measured over a wide range from 45 to 85 degrees in flow phantom system.
