Stochastic resonance of Na, K-ion pumps on the red cell membrane

摘要

The ion transport of the Na, K-ion pump through the cell membrane can be driven by an oscillating electric field. Noise in this field is not necessarily destructive to the transport efficiency. The recent experimental result showed constructive effect of noise in this system. This phenomenon was later on confirmed theoretically in numerical simulations. The theoretical results not only catch the main feature of stochastic resonance in the experiment but also predict unknown transport behavior beyond the experimentally studied parameter region.
