摘要
Dual wavelength picosecond pulses at Giga-hertz repetition rates have received considerable interest for wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) signal transmission and dispersion related measurements of optical fibers and devices. The simultaneous dual-wavelength operation of an actively mode-locked fiber ring laser is described. The key component is a two-chromatic fiber grating, which provides equal cavity length for the two oscillation wavelengths. The configuration based on this device is simple and convenient for wavelength tuning and cavity length control.
