摘要

By definition, an IPN is a polymer composite of two polymers which have been crosslinked or synthesized in the presence of one another. In this paper, authors discuss the feasibility of using an internal reinforcement technology to improve the physical properties of PU RIM. This is done by introducing a second reactive polymer, a polyester system, into the PU reaction system to make up the deficiencies of urethane. This approach is essentially an application of interpenetrating polymeric network (IPN) to reactive polymer processing.
