Planar Four-Port Dipole MIMO Antenna for 5G NR 257/258/261 Frequency Band Applications

摘要

A wideband planar dipole antenna that is extended as a 4-port MIMO antenna having linked ground planes is proposed for fifth-generation (5G) NR band applications. The broadband is attained by feeding the proposed dipole antenna through a Balun that serves the purpose of ensuring impedance matching across a wide range of frequencies. The |S11|<-10 dB of single antenna spans from 27.93% (23.62-31.29 GHz). Even with the linked ground, the MIMO antenna displayed decent isolation with Envelope Correlation Coefficient (ECC) < 0.02. The antenna has great potential owing to the low profile, omnidirectional radiation pattern, satisfactory MIMO performance, and covers the majority of the 5G NR 257/258/261 frequency bands.
