N2 - The improvements of power efficiency and cost reduction enable light emitting diode (LED) to be deployed in a variety of applications. LED can be switched on and off at a relatively high speed than the conventional lighting sources; hence it is possible to use LED as transmitter for optical wireless communication (OWC). In this talk, we will discuss different schemes to enhance the transmission capacity of OWC. We will also discuss some methods to mitigate the background optical noises. In addition, we will highlight different specific applications of OWC, such as positioning, optical beam forming, etc...
