摘要

Liquid crystal self-aligning phenomenon is induced by novel nanoimprinting lithography (NIL) at low imprinting pressure, 1.5 bar, without pre-coated alignment layer. A large size optical anisotropic liquid crystal film, 4×4 cm2, was demonstrated by this novel NIL process. The optical anisotropy is verified by polarized optical microscopy (POM) and the retardation was measured by polarized UV/VIS spectrometer. The film with micro-grooves structure on surface was proved its potential to be a liquid crystal alignment layer within LCD cells.
