abstract = "In this paper, a frequency domain method is presented for the analysis of mechanical vibrations (chatters) in cold rolling of thin sheet on tandem mills. The effects of parameter variations and adjustments are illustrated by plotting various curves in the frequency domain, and from these curves the stability characteristics can be studied. The presented results are useful for system design and parameter adjustment of physical systems.",
