摘要
An optical loop memory was studied for two types of optical filters, the waveguide grating router and the Febry-Perot filter. A distributed feedback laser was directly modulated as an optical packet source. An erbium-doped fiber amplifier was employed in the fiber loop to compensate the loop loss. An optical isolator was used to prevent backward reflections circulating in the loop. The packet was composed of 128 bits of pseudo random binary sequence at 622 Mb/s. After ten circles, a power penalty of 2.3 dB was observed.
