Dual-Band Branch Line Coupler-Based Circularly Polarized Antenna for Millimeter-Wave Applications

摘要

A dual-band circularly polarized antenna radiating at 28/38 GHz is proposed. The circular polarization is achieved by exciting the inputs of the two orthogonally placed antennas through a 90° phase shift using a dual-band branch-line coupler (BLC). The proposed antenna shows an overall system bandwidth of 13.23% (26.1-29.8 GHz) and 5.68% (37.6-39.8 GHz) in terms of <3dB Axial ratio (AR) and <-10dB S11. Such wide system bandwidth at dual frequencies makes the proposed antenna a good candidate for millimeter-wave (mm-wave) applications.
