Crystallization of highly soluble thioglucopyranoside ejected by coherent molecular vibrational excitation using a visible 10 fs pulsed laser

摘要

Under irradiation with a visible 10 fs pulsed laser, crystals can be formed by ejection from the solution phase to the gas phase due to coherent molecular vibrational excitation. Crystallization resulting from ejection by coherent molecular vibration was previously demonstrated for a glucopyranoside containing a hydrophobic substituent exhibiting poor solubility in methanol. The present work has further improved the experimental conditions to demonstrate crystallization of a glucopyranoside with a hydrophilic substituent that is highly soluble in methanol. Solvent effects on the crystallizations of the two glucopyranosides ejected by coherent molecular vibrational excitation were compared, and they showed that the solvent parameters for the crystallizations included not only the ejection induced under coherent excitation of Raman-active molecular vibrations but also the solubility of the solute in the solvent used.
