摘要
Structure formation in the Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) during the hot plate welding process was investigated for a semicrystalline polymer, polypropylene, with large spherulite crystalline structure. A Control Volume Finite Element Method (CVFEM) based computer program was used to simulate the heat transfer and squeezing flow in the welding process. The simulation results included temperature distribution during heating, polymer melt flow and stress build-up during welding, as well as temperature distribution and stress relaxation after welding.
