摘要

A method to sweep out cells from an one-end-closed microfluidic cavity is presented with experimental results. Cell removal is useful for eliminating stuck cells or renewing a culture cavity. However, it cannot be easily achieved due to the flow limitation in a microfluidic system. The idea of the proposed method is to remove cells by secondary flow induced by periodic flow pumping. In experiment, a sequence of frequencies were applied to a cavity pre-filled with cells. We found secondary flow at 20Hz and 40Hz, and the flow effectively removed the cells in the cavity just within few seconds.
