摘要

The aqueous process for the mineralization of CO2 exhausted from industrial sites has been optimized through exergy analysis using the commercial code, Aspen Plus. It has been verified that CO2 could be converted to calcium carbonate (CaCO3) via the formation of calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) using starting materials including calcium oxide (CaO) and water. Modelling was performed by changing the amount of CaO for water from 1 to 50 w/w%. The highest yield of CaCO3 was achieved by mixing 15 w/w% CaO in water under the ambient condition. The current simulation using exergy analysis contributed to finding an optimum reaction condition for CO2 mineralization without high cost experimental works.
