N2 - A new matrix approach to automatically generate transfer function in symbolic form for analog integrated circuits is presented. Analog integrated circuit under analysis is first changed to a closed system and then its linear equations are formulated by modified nodal analysis method in a matrix form. A mixed top-down and bottom-up method of determinant calculation is carried out to efficiently get the functions of the analog integrated circuit in symbolic form. Also, several heuristic rules are applied in the calculation process that further reduce the computation time. The analysis results show that this new method is superior to other approaches.
