An adaptive Smith Predictor control scheme for a downstream vacuum system

摘要

This paper presents an adaptive control scheme to control a vacuum pressure system which can be applied in vacuum manufacturing industry. From the theory of vacuum system and system identification, the nonlinear dynamics of system can be linearized as a first-order plus dead time model (FOPDT). Having wide variation of parameters with time delay in different operation region is the main challenge of vacuum control. The proposed adaptive Smith Predictor control strategy can effectively on-line estimate system model well and deal with time delay under wide variation of parameters simultaneously. The experimental results are provided to demonstrate the advantages and performance of the proposed systematic method.
