A Single-Inductor Dual-Input Dual-Output DC-DC Converter for Photovoltaic and Piezoelectric Energy Harvesting Systems

摘要

A single-inductor dual-input dual-output (SI-DIDO) dc-dc converter for photovoltaic and piezoelectric energy harvesting systems is proposed. The SI-DIDO dc-dc converter uses buck-boost topology. A new algorithm is proposed to share the single inductor between all the inputs and outputs in one switch cycle. Light-load or heavy-load mode is determined by current-mode pulse width modulation (PWM) control. Moreover, a delay lock loop (DLL)-based zero-current detector (ZCD) is proposed to lock the pre-opening time of the comparator. Measurement results show that the peak efficiency of the proposed SI-DIDO buck-boost dc-dc converter is 88.1%.
