A new BlueRing scatternet topology for Bluetooth with its formation, routing, and maintenance protocols

摘要

An attractive scatternet topology called BlueRing, that connects piconets as a ring interleaved by bridges between piconets and addresses its formation, routing and topology-maintenance protocols, was discussed. The BlueRing architecture had several features and it was found that no routing information was needed to be kept by any host once the ring was formed. Another feature was that the architecture was easily scalable to median-size scatternets. It was also found that the architecture can be easily maintained. The simulation results show that BlueRing outperforms other scatternet structures with higher network throughput and moderate packet delay.
