摘要

Digital color images are the essential media for efficient information emergence. A lot of techniques were developed for NPR (Non-photorealistic rendering). Colored pencil is one of approaches to complicated image processing for NPR. The color stroke based style provides us with an expressive and abstract illustration of its subject. This paper proposes a framework of colored pencil style drawing by observing an artist's actual drawing process. Based on the artist's actual drawing processes, the proposed framework of colored pencil drawing is shown in following steps: paper model selection, pigment distribution, outline drawing generation and global stroke orientation. The major contributions of this study are a short rendering time and a new method of colored pencil style drawings. A global colored pencil stroke orientation is calculated using radial basis functions. Finally, this paper presents excellent experimental colored pencil results. Some rendering results are also compared with past related studies.
