本系除訓練外語詮釋與溝通能力外，另側重文化、文學及語言分析，課程力求多元。畢業後無論就業與升學皆有相當之彈性。本系師資陣容堅強，研究重點以新興文學、電影研究、語法語意與語音分析為主。
