Abstract

The application of volume holograms for three-dimensional interconnections in optical information processing systems is discussed. A structure of the board-to-board optical interconnections by volume holograms is proposed. System design and optical experimental results are also presented. It is found that the volume holographic gratings are not only useful for data storage but also are good for optical interconnections in information processing systems.
