Abstract
In the companion paper1, agreement between finite element simulation and closed form solution of the radio frequency (RF) heating process in a lossy dielectric is demonstrated. The finite element codes can be used to gain understanding of the underlying electrostatic and thermal behavior in lossy dielectric materials on a microscale and to avoid the trial and error process of RF heating system design. In this paper, experimental results are compared with finite element solutions to validate the RF heating model in the companion paper.
