Abstract

A UHF GaAs four-stage wideband amplifier is demonstrated. The amplifier circuit has two feedback loops which are inserted between the output of the third stage and the input of the first stage and between the output and the input of the first stage. The former allows the wide bandwidth capability, while the latter contributes to lowering the input voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR). The amplifier was fabricated by using the conventional full ion-implantation process. It exhibited a very flat gain of 23. 0 plus or minus 0. 5 dB with low input/output VSWRs of less than 2. 5 over the frequency range from 0. 2 GHz to 2. 0 GHz.
