Abstract
We have shown that by applying a weak periodic perturbation a stationary chaotic state can be converted into a nonstationary one. This transition was identified by introducing an averaging measure of probability association. A variety of dynamic systems were investigated with this measure and it was found that the statistical nature of chaos changed drastically as a result of a small variation in the parameters near the transition. It was further shown that this change would occur even in the absence of an external perturbation.
