Abstract

We experimentally explore simultaneous self-phase-locking of longitudinal and transverse modes in a diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser with off-axis pumping. The mode-locked states produce wave packets traveling along ray paths localized on hyperbolic caustics in degenerate cavities.
