Abstract

The porous disc was used as the sampling media for the sampling of nitric acid, chloric acid and ammonia in the workplace. The porous metal disc, silica gel tube and impinger were tested simultaneously in the laboratory for adsorption efficiency and capability of the three gases. Samples were analyzed using an IC. Adsorption efficiency was calculated as the ratio of the adsorbed gas concentration to that in the inlet. Breathrough time was defined as the time when the gas collection efficiency dropped from 100% to 95%.
