    Abstract

This paper generalizes the technique of using a bank of IIR filters to realize the ABC in the FDTD method. The filter can absorb propagating and evanescent waves and multimodes as well. This approach is applied to the problem of an inductive iris, which is only 0.1 λ away from the ABC plane.
