Abstract

The reaction of siloxycyclopropanes 1a,b with Zeise's dimer ([Pt(C2H4)CI2]2) in CHCI3 yields ethylene-coordinated β-platinum ketones 2a,b in high yields, respectively. The structure of 2b has been determined by X-ray diffraction methods, showing a chloride-bridged di-meric structure. Treatment of 2a with carbon monoxide gives the monomeric CO complex 3a, which has intramolecular coordination of the carbonyl group.
