Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the properties of some special classes of matrices and, from these properties, we find an orthogonal transformation with which the attitude tracking problem can be treated as a regulation problem. In addition, these properties are also used to design the smoothing model-reference sliding-mode control (SMRSMC) law of the spacecraft attitude tracking maneuvers. First, a set of linear sliding manifolds are chosen in the sliding-mode controller (SMC) to achieve the robust and global attitude tracking maneuvers of spacecrafts. Next, the smoothing reference model is given and discussed. Finally, a numerical example is included to demonstrate the success of the developed SMRSMC.
