Abstract
A projection screen with scattering dot pattern covering only a part of the screen area and the majority of the area left clearly transparent has been proposed for see-through display application. The scattering dot could be replaced with microstructure for redirecting scattering light path or controiling diverging angle for varied application scenario. The prototype of both scattering film and micro prism film have been made and demonstrated to show the desired performance by using commercial projector as the image source. A dedicated ultrashort focus projector using LED on silicon as the image source is being developed in the mean time for the improvement of efficiency and form factor of the overall see-through projection system.
