Abstract

The numerical model of combustion of a liquid titanium particle in air stream was developed. The time evolution of oxygen concentration in droplet and products (Ti, TiO and TiO2 vapour) in air were calculated. Time dependence of a droplet diameter due to evaporation of titanium oxides and dissolution of oxygen was taken into account. The temperature distribution in both phases was predicted.
