Abstract

A series of polystyrene (PS) and poly(methylmethacryalte) (PMMA) montmorillonite (MMT) nanocomposites were synthesized. The nanocomposites were foamed via a batch process using carbon dioxide (CO2) as the foaming agent. The effects of clay dispersion and polymer-clay surface-CO2 interaction on the foam cell morphology were investigated.
