Abstract
The picosecond time-resolved absorption spectra of neat benzene and toluene have been measured by two-photon photolysis, using the third harmonic (355 nm) of a mode-locked Nd3+: YAG laser. The time scale of excimer formation of these neat liquids was estimated. The possible picosecond two-photon excitation of many common solvents is described.
