Abstract

In this paper, we propose an analytical approach for evaluating the performance of finite-user slotted Aloha in wireless networks with multiple packet reception and random traffic. We derive the exact values of the throughput, the average system size, the packet blocking probability, and the average system delay. Our analysis is based on probability theory. We show that our numerical results are identical to simulation results.
