Abstract

The optimal design of suspension for high-density magnetic recording systems was presented. The method of topology optimization was adopted to automate the design optimization of suspension of higher resonant frequencies. It was found that the final optimum design exhibits higher torsional and lateral frequencies than the benchmark of tapered design.
