Abstract

Scanning tunneling microscopy was used to investigate the phase separation in La0.67Ca0.33MnO3 thin films. The irreversibility suggested that the metallic percolation paths was affected randomly by magnetic field. The variation was found insensitive to magnetic field at lower temperatures. The phase separation was found to correlate closely with the underlying grain structure.
