Abstract

Dr. Chi Xiong from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore wrote me a message and asked for a memory on Prof. Kerson Huang. I learned the death of Prof. Huang only from this message. Some sad feeling came up as he was my Ph.D. supervisor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and I learned so much on the essence of theoretical physics from him, and had so many one-to-one discussions and mathematical derivations together in his MIT office. At the same time I was not that surprised by this news given his age. Perhaps this is a perfect ending of the extraordinary life of a theoretical physicist and one of the first generation of Chinese American scientists with great achievements.
