Using reconstructed non-invasive dynamic cardiac image to evaluate global cardiac performance will be significant both to the patients and to the doctors. The article describes methods and processes of finding left ventricular (LV) floating long axis, LV morphological long axis that extracting LV morphological and functional parameters. These parameters can be used in studying the functionality of left ventricle, the status of abnormality of myocardial, the geometric and morphological of Left ventricle in shape analysis. These data can also be used in modeling the LV function and the myocardial motion. The synergetic evaluation of the extracted data from the discussed system can significantly improve the understanding (in clinical) of LV function non-invasively. The data demonstrated are extracted using the multiple slices and multiple phase cardiac MRI images. The LV functional parameters are the stroke volume (cardiac output, CO), eject fraction (EF) and many others. The LV morphological parameters are wall motion analysis, LV chamber cavity variation, effective R-ratio of myocardium and chamber, area surface curvature, global surface curvature circularity calculation. The developed system including functions of (1) display the cardiac images (MRI images) with movie; (2) semi-automatic border tracing; (3) 3-d reconstruction of LV; (4) morphological and functional parameter analysis. And, the system also provides display functions of (1) multi-slice of 2-d MRI image; (2) 3-d wire frame of LV and long axis with movie; (3) the long axis motion traces, etc. From the preliminary data analysis, the result indicates that the LV long axis is sensitive to the myocardial dysfunction and can be used to evaluate the status LV in the contraction phase.
