Abstract

This study investigates the possibility of integrating FIDO authentication standards with a new digital ID card, called New eID which is an ongoing plan organized by the Taiwan government. To increase the security during the data transmission of application services enabled by New eID, we introduce a single sign-on application service architecture. The proposed architecture can be well-integrated with existing government services to provide more security robustness through a two-factor authentication scheme.
