Abstract

We briefly review the technology development in projection display systems - with emphasis on the LCoS rear projection system and its image quality. Issues such as uniformity, contrast ratio and brightness are discussed. Temperature distribution on the PBS and LCoS panels and its effect on the image quality are examined. Critical points to achieve an adequate image quality for rear projection applications are addressed.
