Abstract

J. J. Hopfield at California Institute of Technology had proposed his famous neural networks and applied successfully in many applications. We have applied Hopfield net in our seismic pattern recognition system to detect bright-spot pattern from the simulated seismogram corrupted with noise. The Hopfield net can also recognize bright-spot, pinch-out.....etc.. The recognition power is quite surprising. Neural network computing is quite promising and may be a breakthrough in seismic pattern recognitions and seismic interpretations.
