Abstract

The reaction of O(1D2) atoms with C2H2 has been studied at room temperature by using the CO laser resonance absorption technique. Observed vibrational populations of the CO product were found to be consistent with the overall mechanism O(1D2) + C2H2 → CH2CO*† → CO + CH2(ãA1A1).
