Abstract

Absorption spectra of CH2CO and CD2CO was observed in the region of 120-220 nm with a synchroton radiation source. The spectra showed no interference from a continuum background of water. Transitions to Rydberg states were assigned based on observed isotopic shifts, quantum defects, and calculated vertical excitation energies and oscillator strength.
