    Abstract

This study presents multiband ultra-wideband (UWB) communication system with IEEE 802.15.3a standard [1], which utilizes multicarrier transmission with orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) technology. In this paper, based on a statistical autoregressive (AR) channel model [3] in the frequency domain, we proposed an algorithm that can adaptively track the channel time-variation which is subject to shadowing with line-of-sight (LOS) and non-LOS (NLOS). The algorithm is capable of simultaneously estimating the parameters of the AR process and the channel frequency response. Our results indicate that the proposed algorithm can estimate the channel more precisely over the time-varying indoor UWB channel.
