Abstract
Spectra of the B3Πo+u-X 1Σ+ g system of gaseous Br2 with stimulated-emission pumping in the static gas cell and in a jet were measured via two-colour resonant four-wave mixing technique. The combination of jet-cooling and double-resonance selectivity resulted in only two rotational resonances for each wavelength of pump (grating) beams employed. The intensity, linewidth and the S/N ratio of the rovibronic transitions were strongly influenced by the polarizations of the beams. Intensities of RR lines relative to those of RP lines in various polarization schemes agree with theory.
