Abstract
The laser excitation of polymers having carbazolyl groups in solution produces a dense population of monomer fluorescent and excimer states in one polymer chain, resulting in the intrapolymer S-S annihilation. By analyzing this process, the rate constant of energy migration along the chain was estimated. In the case of systems containing electron-accepting quencher, the S-S annihilation process is replaced by electron transfer, leading to formation of a transient polyelectrolyte.
