Abstract
In this paper, we design and implement a DNS ontology-based, three-layer (i.e., presentation layer, logic layer and data layer) semantic search service. The primary goal is to strengthen the sharing and reuse of DNS knowledge through the iDNS-KDE knowledge portal (http://idns-kde.nctu.edu.tw) to facilitate people in locating the required information and to help alleviate the system management issues on the DNS domain. We adopt the DNS ontology as the semantics resolution mechanism to improve the search capability. It is used for enhancing the semantic search and extending the original diagnosis-and-tutoring model in iDNS-KDE to become the "diagnosis-search-tutoring" model. On the other hand, the separation of the layers could make the whole system more flexible and reusable.
