Abstract

We demonstrate a compact dual-wavelength mode-locked laser by physically combining the Nd:YVO4 and Nd:GdVO4 crystals. The output power for gain balancing reaches 1.3 W with the pulse width and repetition rate of 47 ps and 2.86 GHz. A train of 0.32 THz optically beat pulses is generated with the effective pulse duration of 1.6 ps.
