Design of a DRX Sleep Scheduling Scheme with Carrier Aggregation in 3GPP Heterogeneous Cellular Networks

Abstract

We design a power saving approach in this paper for the sleep scheduling mechanism with Carrier Aggregation (CA) in 3GPP uplink heterogeneous cellular networks. Through the settings of DRX/DTX parameters from the jointly scheduled perspective of both the long-term and short-term power allocation, we achieve an energy-efficient and quality-assured services of PHY-MAC cross-layer. Simulation results show that our scheme has a better power-saving performance than other solutions.
